As with any such show, this year's OC Music Awards had its fair share of yawn-worthy competition weighing down beacons of talent. Luckily, South County's the Gromble fall into the talented category. This power-pop group specializes in an infectious, high-energy brand of fuzzy rock that, while catchy, is far from obnoxious (think early Weezer). Competing for the title of this year's Best Live Band, they performed at the showcase held at the Gypsy Lounge—one of the venerable venue's final events. Hopefully, unlike the the former Lake Forest staple, these guys have a bright future.
