They charge for copies of their schedule? If the bus is such an efficient transportation mode why does it cost so much to ride?
You were that Orange County Transit Authority bus driver who had to be cold and rude to me when I was helping my friend find a connecting bus. I was nice and asked to take a brief look at the Bus Book so I could find out her next connection so she wouldn't have to walk far after midnight. You said I couldn't, even though I told you why and that the customer-information center is closed after 8 p.m. You said I'd have to pay for it, or you'd consider it stolen—all this on the night before Christmas Eve! Maybe you and your OCTA supervisors should give up some pay to cover that "loss of funding," instead of giving your passengers high rates and more fees! You guys are sounding more and more like Scrooge, picking on us Bob Cratchits.

Drivers have a lot of assholes to deal with, both supervisors and riders. They have a schedule to keep and often run late. When they are late people bitch at them because they miss connections and such. When a person asks to borrow a bus book, I will take a guess that the books seldom return. I doubt if he gets a commission for selling the bus book, and I doubt he is charged if one disappears without the dollar in the till. True he seems an asshole by your description. Everyone has one of those day occasionally, and I have seen drivers that were genuine assholes... usually with a LOT of seniority...
