It has been a good 25 years for the Mighty Echoes, a West Coast a cappella doo-wop group who’ve held tight to their classic style in the face of constantly changing musical tastes. The quartet—Charlie Davis, Harvey Shield, Jon Rubin and John Fluker—arrive in perfectly pressed, matching suits, their voices creating a smooth-as-silk harmony that has taken the group everywhere from performing with Ray Charles to guesting on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. This week, the Mighty Echoes grace the Carpenter Center stage for a night of classic tunes and wholesome family entertainment as part of the center’s cabaret series.
