Representing the new wave of hardcore music, Michigan band We Came As Romans carry the torch for the hybridized pop/metal/screamo set as good as anyone rocking flat-ironed hair and terodactyl vocals. With no shortage of double bass percussion, machine-gun-speed palm muted guitars and symphonic arraignments, these guys manage to infuse a wealth of pop-punk hooks and alchemize a sweet-and-sour sound combo. Those familiar with mind-altering substances might think ecstasy laced with meth. The band are touring in support of their 2009 release, To Plant a Seed. Their second album is expected in 2011.
