Even if you're an abject satanist, you've got to hand it to Stryper for being one of the world's few Christian glam bands to find mainstream success. What's more, listening to their music, with its chugging guitars, wicked solos and soaring vocals, is to hear any number of standard metal influences of the day. What's not to like? How often can most of us say we genuinely pay attention to lyrics anyway? Check out these pious rockers from Orange County as they celebrate 25 years since their genesis. If not for the jam "To Hell With the Devil," then at least to flash the devil horns in a flagrant act of ironic defiance.
