Echo Echo has a knack for marrying disparate sonic elements and making them harmonious. The vocals, arrangements and progressions played by this ambient alternative band meander like a slow-moving river in unexpected directions, manifesting as unusual melodies. Swirly, fuzzed-out guitars, vintage keyboards and thunderous percussion back front man Steve Carson's rich voice. Comparisons are tough, but this midtempo rock outfit have moments when their sound is reminiscent of mid-’90s era Radiohead, albeit not quite as revolutionary or genius but still worth repeat listens—which works out since they’ll be playing every Tuesday this month at La Cave.
