BASH A MEXICAN
Amazing insightful responses from the know-nothing Mexican as usual [Gustavo Arellano’s ¡Ask a Mexican! Nov. 5]. YOU KNOW IT!

“You know what they say when you assume—it makes a culero out of you and you!” You are a bad boy, Gustavo.

WAR OF THE WAVES
While I believe we all have a place in the lineup [Hey, You! “A Rhetorical Paddling,” Nov. 5], I certainly agree that the majority of standup paddlers I run into feel they don’t have to abide by any rules or courtesies. Simple fix. Take ’em out. Those boards are awfully expensive, and replacing your fin after going over the top of one might just be worth the trade.

Getting tired of hearing about a few surfers who think the ocean is theirs. Get out of the way. Shut up and deal with it, weenies.

A CAPITAL GRILLING
Yelp only rates the Capital Grille as 3.5 stars [Edwin Goei’s “Big Meat, Big Money,” Nov. 5]. One guy asked the manager if the steaks were prime, and the manager replied, “Choice prime.” Is that a new grade? Why are you pimping this place? Do you get free meals?

Ahhh, almost wish I were one of the gargantua-butts who can actually pack away those huge portions. Sigh.

You didn’t mention grass-fed or sustainable, so I’ll rush down there. Wait a minute—do they use DDT in the EXP 06/10 dried porcini powder? I’d have to draw the line. Good review, Edwin—pullin’ in those Iowa Shriners for the Man. But it also works for native Californiangelinos who remember Patty Hearst when she had little-to-no cleavage.

SHAKING OUT OUR PROP. 19 LETTERS BAG
Pot was the only thing that kept me going while going through chemo. Chadd [McKeen], you’re just going to have to take the hit [Nick Schou’s “The Pot Prop,” Oct. 22]. Around here, the establishment is so afraid of losing its funding. That’s how the man makes his profit—look at all the billions the DEA gets per year, and for how many years now?

I think it is so silly that people are arguing about an OUNCE! It still says you can GROW a 25-FOOT-by-25-FOOT GARDEN and only be able to CARRY an ounce at one time! HOW MUCH DO YOU SMOKE????? I’m a medical user, have been for five years, and I go through an eighth about every two to three days. So an ounce would last me close to a MONTH! (It has before.) And to claim that people would be stealing more and more from one another, etc. Really? When you can go to a store and buy it legally like a six-pack of Budweiser? It is RIDICULOUS to vote no on Proposition 19! All it does is keep the prices REASONABLE and the POWER of the GANGS/CARTELS DOWN! Leave it up to California to go and screw it up again! :-( SAD, SAD day for the rights and freedoms of patients!

Marijuana is a dangerous drug that destroys families and lives and ruins jobs. No matter at what age you use it, it kills.

LOVIN’ AND HATIN’ LORETTA
I don’t know who they get to write these articles [R. Scott Moxley’s Moxley Confidential, “Can Van Tran Get Loretta Sanchez Fired?” Oct.22], but they are obviously Republican, very rude and not very intelligent. I don’t understand the comment about the working poor in Santa Ana. That makes no sense at all. If people are working, they are obviously not poor. You need to really have articles proofread. Well, I guess it’s just bitter comments coming from an upset Republican over the recent elections. There is a reason the majority of winners were Democrats. The people voted for them.

I want to comment on the individual who criticized Representative Loretta Sanchez’s American accent. I don’t know if she studied Spanish at school or if she spoke Spanish at home. However, it is totally unfair to criticize her for having an American accent. Her grammar is correct, and she pronounces Spanish words correctly. She is not a native-born Mexican, therefore why the criticism?
Listen2, via ocweekly.com
If Sanchez drops this, then she not only has herself to blame, but also the totally LAME Democratic Party of OC! If she thought she was going to win this thing with six web ads on theLiberalOC.com, she gets what’s coming. Shaking up the jar of bees isn’t always bad, just when the bee (Van Tran) goes for a sting in the balls.

Van Tran can’t even pass a budget in Sacramento. He is a failure.
