More About
While we think a new band adopting a French name is an easy way for said band to score instant indie cred, LAs Le Switch would still rock without their silly frog moniker. While their sound isnt particularly unique, as they rely on a 60s-pop approach, something about their dedication to the genre optimistic, bouncing, choppy piano-based tunes combined with infectious songwritingdistinguishes them from the infestation of indies out there. At moments, Le Switch are like an inverted version of Elliott Smith or Richard Swift. And when singer Aaron Kyle growls like Tom Waits on the tango-inspired Monkberry Moon Delight, instead of sounding derivative, the music sounds sinfully playful.
