The Higher

Chain Reaction

You know the punk-rock landscape has changed forever when Epitaph signs bands like The Higher. Bear in mind, we're not saying it's a bad thing. These four lads from the Vegas desert play a type of pop music that doesn't quite have the edge of Fallout Boy, or the saccharine sweetness of N'Sync. What they've done is successfully combine the best of both worlds and create a punkish-pop hybrid that isn't bitter with irony or rank with commercial appeal. Dig the song It's Only Natural. Accompanied by a synthy dance arraignment, vocalist Seth Trotter (looking like one of the Hanson brothers) sings, "You keep giving me looks when you come my way. The way you shaking me up, it's like an earthquake." Sounds good doesn't it? Shake on down to Chain Reaction.
