It’s a book lover’s two-for-one deal at local arts booster Barbara DeMarco-Barrett’s monthly Corona del Mar literary salon, “Pen on Fire,” when the radio hostess (KUCI 88.9 FM’s Writers on Writing) introduces this double bill of big-time fiction writers Maile Meloy and Mona Simpson. The award-winning authors of, respectively, a recent short story collection (Both Ways is the Only Way I Want It) and a new novel (My Hollywood) meet fans of serious literary fiction in the cozy environs of the Scape Gallery. Watch the radio raconteur in person, asking smart questions of a couple of esteemed American authors, and stay to get your copies of their books signed, but maybe with a pen that’s not on fire.
