It’s a night of feel-good vibes at this week’s Orange County Great Park concert. Headliner and OC resident Donavon Frankenreiter pops over from Laguna Beach to play his breezy, surf-inspired brand of laid back rock, and perhaps share a few songs off his new album, Glow, due out Oct. 5. The epitome of easy Orange County living (and the envy of the 9-to-5 set), Frankenreiter has become local legend for his two obsessions, music and surfing, professions which have taken him around the world. Precluding the concert, a gaggle of comedians will perform at the Hangar Cafe to get the serotonin flowing and increase those endorphins. Laughter and good music? They’re the best medicine. It’s sure to be a special night of music in the OC Great Park. As his tour posters urge, “Come see him live, before he goes back in the water!”
