Twisted Wine

STAGEStheatre

With the success of Big Love and documentaries like True Life and TLC’s newest project, Sister Wives, polyamorous and polygamous relationships are a sure way to get ratings all aflutter. Call it a person’s natural curiosity, call it that ever-prevalent strive for shock value—but playwright Jesse Glick calls it the premise of his first full theatrical production. In Twisted Wine, characters Robert and Sherry are enjoying a happy, successful, carefree life together—until their love-starved friend, Lisa, desperate for a union to call her own, expresses a desire to, well, make it a party of three. Boundaries are pushed and broken, social norms are obliterated—Glick definitely knows how to wrangle an audience’s attention, or at least raise a few eyebrows.
Saturdays, 5 p.m.; Sundays, 5:30 p.m. Starts: Aug. 28. Continues through Sept. 18, 2010
