Since placing second in the eighth season of American Idol, Adam Lambert has dedicated his music career to freaking out the squares, as evidenced most notably in his American Music Awards performance of “For Your Entertainment,” which pushed the limits of what Middle America usually likes to see dudes doing with other dudes on primetime network TV. So maybe that explains why he’s performing two shows at the Pacific Amphitheater as part of the OC Fair, traditionally a pretty family-friendly event. Or maybe he just likes being close to his hometown of San Diego. Or maybe he just likes rides. Opening up the show is Orianthi, a 25-year-old Australian singer/songwriter who was planned to be the lead guitarist for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour.
