There are three things that make for a successful trip to the fair: throwing up on some ride that spins you in continuous circles, shelling out a dollar to see the world’s largest horse, and eating only foods that have been deep fried. The OC Fair has all of the standard carnival rides you’ve come to expect; plus this year, there are fast passes available for purchase to get you to the front of the lines. When you tire of the carnies, there’s an endless supply of food and drink vendors so you can munch on that funnel cake while downing a margarita. To appease the kids, experience a 3-D journey through the human brain hosted by none other than “Weird Al” Yankovic. And to top it all off, head to the Action Sports Arena for the 36th Annual Speedway Fair Derby to commemorate opening day.
