It’s not quite a million-dollar event, but it’s damn close: this year’s Rock the Runway at Santa Ana’s Art Institute of California will put established high-couture designers such as Maggie Barry and Michael Costello alongside student designers for an avant-garde runway show bookended with performances from OC’s BLOK and Denmark’s the Raveonettes—whose calculated Lux-and-Nico cool will match the mood of the evening perfectly. Oh, and then there’s the awarding of $700,000 in scholarships for the next academic quarter. And the Kogi BBQ truck will be giving out free tacos to the first 1,000 customers! And it’s all free with RSVP! And there’s more, but the company physician said to quit piling this on because the average person can only handle up to $999,999 worth of excitement in any 24-hour period. Just trust us that this is a class act in every possible way.
