Every four minutes, a person is diagnosed with a blood cancer (such as leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma or myeloma). That figure estimates about 139,860 people in the United States were diagnosed last year alone. It’s a devastating kind of disease, but one that has a strong force trying to remedy it. The LLS Society of Orange County and the Inland Empire gets a little extra help this week thanks to Jo Koy—the veteran comedian is teaming up with 99.1 KGGI’s Evelyn Erives to take over the Irvine Improv and host a great night of comedy. Every cent of the ticket price will go toward the foundation—that’s not funny, that’s downright philanthropic.
