Sure, the movie version of Nine kind of bombed, earning neither the financial returns nor critical accolades that the previous Rob Marshall-directed musical, Chicago, racked up. But that shouldnt poison future adaptations of the 1982 Broadway production (which itself is loosely based on the Fellini film 8 1/2a lot of layers at work here), such as this one from Fullertons Hunger Artists Theatre Company. While this production doesnt have Fergie, it does have the original numbers that Marshall cut from last years motion picture, and stars Dan Wozniak, a Hunger Artists newbie, in the lead role of Guido. Its a part originated by Raul Julia, and played in the past by Antonio Banderas and Daniel Day-Lewissome pretty big (and handsome) shoes to fill.
