Rarely does a legit reggae festival roll into Pomona. Actually, it’s more like never. Lucky for us, we’re witnessing the birth of an irie Spring ritual in the Inland Empire this Sunday as the First Annual Roots Collective Reggae Festival hosts 18 legendary and local island-style acts at the Glass House. Throw on your woolliest dread cap and come on down for this gathering of dub enthusiasts, roots reggae, rock steady, dance hall, and lovers rock. The event features jammin’ Jamaican toasters like Shinehead, E. Dee, Garth Dennis, and East LA collective Quinto Sol. This budding community event needs as much local support as it can get, but one thing they won’t have to worry about getting is a fog machine for the show—we’re guessing the crowd has that part covered.
