Still brushing off snow from their Olympic Games closing ceremonies performance, ScrapArtsMusic leave their Vancouver homeland to show us Yankees how Canadians can make a whole lotta noise. The show is kind of like Stomp—but with even more I-found-this-in-the-alley recycled handmade instruments. More than 140, actually. What started as an “outsider art project” (though we love those, anyway) quickly morphed into a globe-trotting success with the groups’ intense visuals, intricate rhythms, and profound energy. Did we mention they have five drummers? Catch them at the Carpenter Center this weekend before ScrapArtsMusic head off to China.
