Following the success of femme folk soundtrack Rabbit Fur Coat with Jenny Lewis, the Watson Twins (real life sisters Chandra and Leigh Watson) released an onslaught of wistful, intimate indie pop that would soothe any uneasy soul. The sisters’ latest record, Talking To You, Talking To Me, released in February, is a collection of sultry and mournful folk melancholy. Their musical inspirations reflect a kind of Nashville-meets-LA concoction: sun-bleached guitar riffs under wailing, ghostly honky-tonk harmonies, creating a dichotomy between the brooding and the light-hearted. Be sure to pick up a copy of the Watson Twins’ newest release; it’s your only ticket into the show. If space allows, entrance will be admitted on a first come, first served basis—but don’t hold your breath.
