Long before director Chris Columbus made paydirt cranking out Harry Potter flicks, he hit paydirt cranking out ‘80s teenage fare like Adventures in Babysitting and Home Alone. He also penned The Goonies and the premiere non-CGI puppety creepshow Gremlins. You remember the drill: no feeding after midnight and don’t, for landsakes, get ‘em wet, or that incredibly adorable Gizmo (whose stuffed toy counterpart went for like, $20 in the ‘80s—which was a lot) will go all Linda Blair on you and blow your mom up with a microwave oven.
