Jealousy, tragedy and the love of a well-educated hooker are just some of the central elements of Giuseppi Verdi’s masterpiece La Traviata. And for all the lovelorn and wayward souls out there, February is perhaps the most appropriate time to watch a comely corseted soprano singing about about the aforementioned elements. The opera, which is being presented by Teatro Lirico D’Europa at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, will feature a full orchestra, and for those whose Italian is less than benissimo, English supertitles will be provided. So check it out, and bring a date. Or if you’re single, come alone, and celebrate the tragedy that is your life.
