La Mirada Theatre presents a special one-night-only event—and a once-in-a-lifetime happening for theater-lovers eager to behold the stage’s next great stars, future Tony winners or, possibly just as coveted, future Glee cast members—with their 2nd annual Upright Cabaret. Bringing the spectacle of the Big Apple over to our sunny coast, this show’s theme is “New York State of Mind,” and features music from Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday and Robert Goulet. The young up-and-comers performing these songs—as well as a few of their own selections—are The Light in the Piazza’s David Burnham, Spring Awakening’s Kyle Riabko and Little Shop of Horrors’ Jennifer Leigh Warren. Upright alumni include Adam Lambert, Neil Patrick Harris and Alan Cumming. If you consider yourself a theater buff, don’t miss the next generation of superstar performers as they bring a little bit of Broadway to Southern California.
