Life can be pretty tough these days, so why not venture back to a simpler time, like, say, 1938, the year Thornton Wilders Our Town debuted? Yeah, folks had it good over in Grovers Corners. Well, sure, Simon Stimson is a bit of a drunk, and George and Emily are having some serious cold feet before their wedding, and the third act takes place at a cemetery during the funeral for one the main characters, who appears as a ghost pondering the value of life, butwell, maybe things werent really any better back then. But feel free to share some generational depression now through March at the Long Beach Playhouse. No matter how it may sound here, its ultimately uplifting. (Honestly!)
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Feb. 5. Continues through March 6, 2010
