You’re the creep who parked your car right next to mine in the deserted Home Depot parking lot early one morning. As I approached my car, you asked me, a woman, “Would you get in my car and press the pedals so I can check my brake lights?” Uh, no. Instead, I went back into the store to get an escort back to my car. I don’t know if you had a camera on the floor of your car to snap pictures, or if you were trying to get a girl inside so you could shove her over and take off, but next time you try that line, you really should pick an automotive-parts store, you pervert.

Really? Would you care to specify what crime it is you're referring to in... "What's sad is that people like Bill Hicks are clueless as to the fact that women are the number one victims of crime." Women are SO abused... so now it's gone from racism to sexism. I agree that the situation would call for caution, but just because it appears suspicious, doesn't mean it's always wrong. Hope you're not stuck with the shoe on the other foot. Oh wait, you're a woman, so you couldn't possibly pose any threat, right?

Hello Bill! Do you read the news? The guy was in the parking lot of Home Depot and chose a woman to assist him, it reeks of creepy and suspicion. Besides, aren't situations like this the reason why God created Auto Club! Pull your head out dude.

Most of these submissions suck. I sent a pretty funny one in and have yet to see it published.

CB, stop race baiting. My God..some creepy person pulls up next to a woman under suspicious circumstances and you focus on a damn CARTOON? I suspect you and Bill might be the same person if not of the same ilk.

The illustration is of a white guy with red hair yet the letter makes no mention of race or physical appearance only of gender. Why is the image of an Anglo and not a Hispanic or black? Looks like a little subliminal racism to me.

I'm a pretty tough girl and that story gave me chills. Bill, this guy may be harmless, or he may not be, but I bet you wouldn't want your mother, sister, or daughter to take that chance. To the smart woman who did the right thing by protecting herself, I hope you were very clear about what happened when you asked for a security guard to escort you. Then store perrsonnel can be on the lookout in case this guy returns with more "brake light problems."

What's sad is that people like Bill Hicks are clueless as to the fact that women are the number one victims of crime. For some reason the XY chromosome sometimes feels the need to beat/harass/murder/dismember us at times. For no reason other than we are a small target. People like Bill Hicks need to shut up and be thought a fool than to open his mouth and remove all doubt. I'm sure he tells if he had a daughter he would tell her to get into cars to help strange men look for puppies. God save me from fools. To the lady, you did the right thing. I can tell from the other comments (Bills Hicks verbal vomitorium doesn't count) that others think you are wise too. As a women, I understand what it feels like to feel threatened just walking alone at night let alone some creep parking his car next to you in an empty parking lot. If someone can't see that that is weird and creepy then they are probably that creep.

What a world we live in. A person asks for some help and he immediately accused of attempted kidnapping and/or rape. An op-ed and cartoon to boot: for shame!

  • CHS 01/16/2010 2:41:00 AM

    That is pretty weird!

  • Chris 01/16/2010 2:40:00 AM

Wow. Smart woman. That's scary for anyone. Be careful, people.
