LA-based photographer Jeff Dunas is a uniquely American artist, taking inspiration from rich and famous celebs in his collection “Up Close & Personal,” but just as naturally depicting regular folks and small-town life in “American Pictures.” In his book “State of the Blues: The Living Legacy of the Delta,” he captured legends of a distinctly American art form—John Lee Hooker, Charlie Musselwhite and Buddy Guy, to name a few. Blues is clearly very personal music—it’s all about love gone wrong and doing what you must to scrape by—so the pictures are as expressive as you’d expect. Portraits from this series, which also include shots of historic blues venues, comprise the first exhibition of the new year at Muzeo, running through mid-August.
