The Commotions arent more than a bouffant or two shy of the B-52s, even when theyre off cover-band dutytheyre already Children of Nuggets revivalists who find a particularly paisleyed place between Etiquette Records and IRS Records, and then get fizzy drinks ready for everyone who shows up. Their original music hops and rattles between record-collector refinement and house-party vigor, and their occasional turns as 562s version of the B-52s (the C-17s?) take everything up another thrilling 10 percent. Normally the dress-up is reserved for Halloween, but LAs Albino Crow has done something special by pulling this little show together in January.
