As the LBC’s Snoop Dogg might exclaim: “Bow wow wow, yippee yo, yippee yay!” At the 2009 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship this weekend (the nation’s largest dog show), more than 3,000 of man’s best friends will be exhibiting their obedience and athletic skills, while competing in a variety of live and televised competitions with Little Miss Sunshine -style hopes of a Best in Show award. The two-day affair hosts an expansive Dog Mall, where the newest innovations in canine gear can be procured; a multi-sensory dog exhibit where attendees can “see, smell, hear and taste exactly as a dog does”; as well as interactive dog exhibits and a special “Meet the Breeds” component where exotic breeds like Briquet Griffon Vendeens and Xoloitzcuintles (and more familiar ones like Labradors and Dachshunds) can be found.
