“We’re lucky and blessed to be invited to their things,” Marisol adds. “And we get those cool vibes, all those positive things that they make us a part of that. It’s satisfying to get on Weeds, but to be played in a documentary about great women that shows up in a little theater? Damn, what an honor. Just awesome.”
There are no imminent plans to record a second album—money needs to be saved first (they spent the royalties Weeds gave them to buy a computer that allows them to burn CDs for sale). They’ll end the year with the Noche de Milagros show and a New Year’s Eve concert at Long Beach’s Rhythm Lounge. “We’re doing it ourselves to see how to keep our baby going,” Marisoul says. “We’d love to record, but let’s end the year playing. We’re happy that people like us. You like our loqueras? ¡Orale!”
