Besides that whole unwarranted slaughter of millions of turkeys thing, Thanksgiving is also about being a decent person and giving help to those who need it. It's a mantra that looks nice on a greeting cardbut it's not often when we associate decency with rock 'n' roll. Except this year because Alex's Bar is hosting a benefit show that not only gives proceeds to the Eli Home and Friendship Kitchen, but also serves up a pretty kick-ass plate of live music. Featuring acoustic performances by Bad Brains frontman H.R., Walter Schreifels from the Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand and Rival Schools, Far/onelinedrawing singer Jonah Matranga, Jeff Pezzati from Chicago punk band Naked Raygun and Adolescents bassist Steve Soto and a deejay set by Dennis Owens, the only group notbenefiting from the holiday are the aforementioned turkeys, but at this stage, they're probably used to it by now.
