An Evening with Joan Collins

Carpenter Center

Few starlets have managed the kind of talent, luck and longevity that it takes to stay in the spotlight for 50-plus years. Not to mention the body. Name any other actress who decides to pose for Playboy at age 49, or shoot a personal workout video after their 60th birthday. Though Joan Collins may have won over most of her audience in the ‘80s as Alexis, the bitchy, foofy-haired debutante on Dynasty , she’s managed to stay on top of her game in a variety of roles. In the end, Collins has always been best at bringing her own personality and charm to everything she touches. It’s a quality that’s going to serve her well this week as she hits the Carpenter Center stage for the return of her one-woman show, An Evening with Joan Collins . Treating her Long Beach fans to an irreverent look back at her superstar life and all the drama and comedy that came with it, Collins is reviving a show that she hasn’t done since 2006. Of course, a one-woman show is like a fine wine, it only gets better with age.
