MURS

House of Blues

By Grace Le

Published on October 06, 2009 at 2:40am

Instead of embracing the formula of violence and consumerism so often used by popular rappers, MURS takes a step back from the top 40 machine and throws a wrench in its cogs. MURS turns the art of rap inwards, delivering thought-provoking lyrics saturated emotional realism and social commentary. Using verbal artillery, MURS demystifies the allure of gangster glory while laying it all down to insane beats. This is Rap v2.0 for the enlightened listener.
