Dana Point Art Festival

Lantern Bay Park

By Jack Grimshaw

Published on October 06, 2009 at 2:40am

Your basic weekend beach-barbecue-and-beer bash becoming a bit mundane? Wanna juice up that jaded palate? How about belly-dancing, bagpipes and the Beatles (sort of)? Head out to the world-culture celebration that is the Dana Point Arts Festival, where you’ll also find West African and Japanese drumming, Aztec and Arpana Indian dancers, a capella group Vybration, a performance by South OC School of the Arts, hands-on activities for all family members, art exhibitions, food, and more. Word of warning: Flip up piper Stephen Megarity’s kilt, and it’s likely the last thing you’ll remember is a Glasgow kiss.
