Jurassic Park

Fox Fullerton Theatre

By Julian Williamson

Published on August 13, 2009 at 2:40am

The ongoing, heated debate between evolution and creationism may be eased slightly on Thursday with the screening of one epic film. This piece of cinematic mastery of such social importance is none other than the 1993 classic Jurassic Park. It’s the perfect middle ground between the two opposing forces, with heavy reliance on science and genetic engineering, as well as people coexisting with dinosaurs. OK, that may be a load of crap, but the movie is still excellent. And the showing is free in the parking lot behind the Fox Fullerton Theatre. As old as this movie is, the special effects and overall quality will still impress. Theologists, genetic biologists, social theorists, archeologists and the general public are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Snacks and drinks will be available.
