Instant Gratification Polaroid Party

Hibbleton Gallery

By Amanda Parsons

Published on August 06, 2009 at 2:40am

It’s the end of an era. Polaroid cameras are disappearing due to the digital revolution and ISM is commemorating the occasion through this community project. Their gallery exhibition “Instant Gratification: A Polaroid Party” to be held at Hibbleton Gallery, is scheduled to coincide with the expiration date of the Polaroid 600 Series and will feature over 100 of these one-of-a-kind photographs from around the world, hanging side by side, all taken on these dying behemoths. Just to add to the fun, Hibbleton will also have several of the vintage models on display, loaded with film, for guests to use in documenting the occasion. Say cheese one last time to these fallen icons and for god’s sake, make sure your hair looks nice. For more info, go to www.ismcommunity.org
Fri., Aug. 7, 7 p.m.; Thursdays-Sundays, 1 p.m. Starts: Aug. 7. Continues through Aug. 30, 2009
