Martin Scorsese's directorial masterpiece about a mentally unstable Vietnam war veteran (Robert De Niro) who works as a taxi driver during the night. In this city, the perceived decadence and sleaze feeds his violent urge to lash out, however, he attempts to save a teenage prostitute (Jodie Foster) in the process.
