Barbershop Harmony Society’s 71st Annual International Convention and Competition The start of July will see Anaheim infested with 1940’s-style barbershop harmony singers. This stampede of handlebar mustaches, striped suspenders and acappella sounds is hitting Orange County thanks to the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 71st Annual International Convention and Competition—the largest all-male singing organization in the world. The festivities start Wednesday with a live sing-off competition while Thursday features a live gospel sing (open to the public) and the Association of International Champions show—and the days to follow include a mixed-harmony showcase and a Fourth of July extravaganza for the ages as the Ambassadors of Harmony, Masters of Harmony and The Vocal Majority (the best choruses in the world) perform together on the Honda Center stage. What better way to celebrate our nation’s independence than by enjoying this uniquely American art form?
