Goin' Home to Our Great American Family

OCPAC

By LESLIE AGAN

Published on June 18, 2009 at 2:41am

Just what is the “Great American Family”? What defines our nation’s rich heritage? The American family is somewhat a great ongoing experiment—ours is a melting pot of immigrants from many lands. From BBQs and fireworks on the fourth of July to anti-war protests and the fight for equality for all—we are a wonderful and volatile country. Our landscape is continuously evolving. Copland’s “Hoe-Down” may no longer be the theme song to America 2009. Hell, beef may no longer even be what’s for dinner. But, by golly, it’s the American tradition to constantly progress forward—and an old-timey rendezvous down memory lane, whatever your address, should prove entertaining. Join the OCMCO as they present their annual patriotic concert.
