Release the Punks

Que Sera

By CHESNEY HIGGINS

While the neo-con brats stomp their feet about President Obama’s agenda to close Guantanamo and misleading the American public by implying these prisoners will somehow just be let loose, we’re concerned about the real news here. It’s “Release the Punks” that everyone should be thinking about. Priorities, people! Dance until you die! FTW! The house DJs at Que Sera in Long Beach will be spinning records from the first ten years of one of the most influential artistic movements of the 20th century: punk. Ramones, Sex Pistols, New York Dolls, Iggy and the Stooges—they were the true politicians, the vox populi. Go and dance—we’re all gonna die someday, anyway. Que sera, sera.
