If watching The Jetsons taught us anything as a society, its that robots shouldnt be trusted. Thankfully, as a society we arent technologically advanced enough to have robot-maids running our homes and treating us with sass...yet. That fate is quickly approaching, however, and Santa Anas Discovery Science Center recognizes it. Their current exhibit, Robots and Us, aims to teach children about technical realities along with the mechanics of robots from science fictionand begs the important existential questions: Could a machine ever be alive? Should we give machines the capability to experience emotions? And arent we humans just a different kind of machine? Educate your childrenbefore its too late.
