KROQ's Weenie Roast

Verizon Wireless Amphitheater

By ALBERT CHING

Published on May 14, 2009 at 2:41am

Did you miss out on Coachella last month? Well, you’ve got an opportunity to kinda sorta make up for it in the form of KROQ’s annual Weenie Roast, back in Orange County for the 17th year in a row. Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Silversun Pickups, the Airborne Toxic Event, Cage the Elephant and White Lies all played Coachella this year, and all will be performing at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine. Weezer, Kings of Leon and Jimmy Eat World headline the main stage, while the side stage elects for more of a rap-rock vibe: Hollywood Undead, Big B and the critically maligned but currently popular Asher Roth. Oh, and Anberlin, who don’t really fit with those other acts, but are probably happy to be there nonetheless.
