Harland Williams

Laugh Factory

By Mark Miller

Published on May 07, 2009 at 2:41am

A Canadian-born actor and stand-up comedian, Harland Williams’ three most popular movie roles are that of the pee-drinking cop in Dumb and Dumber, the stoner with a heart of gold in Half Baked and the dimwitted astronaut in Rocketman. Offbeat though these characters may be, they don’t hold a candle to his stand-up persona. From the second Williams walks on stage—often dressed in logic-defying wardrobe—the audience is in for an incomparable treat. Whether he’s sharing tales about his wacky days as a park ranger (true story) or offering nuggets of wisdom such as “Pumpkins are the only living organisms with triangle eyes,” you can be sure you’ve never seen a show like this.
