Your first clue that Thursday nights at Paradise Piano Bar are two tons of fun? The flier for Triple Threat Thursdays reads, “It ain’t over till . . .” followed by a glorious picture of Beth Ditto screaming at the camera. Long Beach’s most intimate gay bar (we mean intimate like a sophisticated lounge, not, say, the men’s restroom at Ripples) turns up the glitz with its weekly karaoke night, hosted by the fabulous Carolyn Sweets. Guests are encouraged to sing, dance, dress in drag and do whatever inspires them to make karaoke different.
Thursdays, 9 p.m., 2009
