Social Justice Summit

Cal State Fullerton

It might seem counterinuitive for progressives to keep organizing with the presidential election of Barack Obama, but guess what? He’s proving to be as centrist as Clinton. That’s why events like Cal State Fullerton’s Social Justice Summit are so crucial in keeping activists on their toes and ready to effect true change rather than wait on politicians. Now in its fifth year, the Social Justice Summit is a day-long festival of workshops involving a grab-bag of issues (immigrant rights, cop patrollers, anti-war, eco-friendly) and speakers, alongside organic food and musicians. The keynote speaker is KPFK-FM radio host Jerry Quickley, but stop by and learn a thing or two in the eternal struggle for democracy.
