“Conscious action,” the theme of this year’s Golden West College Peace Conference, suggests that organizers assume you already made reservations. If not, you can still spend the day at this education, activism and cultural arts shindig for peace and nonviolence, which includes breakfast and lunch. Just show up. Workshops and panel topics for the pro-peace policy include corporate social responsibility, conflict resolution and international cooperation. There’s poetry, live music (by the mantra-singin’ Shakti Tribe) and classical dance of South India, for your inner bohemian. Most presenters are local scholars and activists, all clearly thinking globally. Here are the strong. Here are the trusted. Here is some harmony.
