Rat Pack-Live at the Sands

Orange County Performing Arts Center

By VICKIE CHANG

Published on April 09, 2009 at 2:43am

Ring-a-ding-ding! After four acclaimed years in London’s West End, The Rat Pack: Live at the Sands is finally hitting the road. Before there was a Steve Wynn, the city of Las Vegas had Bugsy Siegel, Howard Hughes and Meyer Lansky. And then there was the legendary Rat Pack and the Sands Hotel. It was during the filming of Ocean’s Eleven in 1960 that the Rat Pack—that’s Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin—first performed together in the Copa Room of the Sands. Take a trip back in time to when Vegas was still all glitz and glam, as this show re-creates one of those dazzling Vegas nights, complete with a swinging 15-piece band helping out on such crooner classics as “My Kinda Town” and “Fly Me to the Moon.” Celebrate some of the finest performers Sin City—and the world—has ever seen.
