Lord of the Dance

By Amanda Parsons

Published on February 26, 2009 at 2:43am

“Kick-ball-change” may be the only thing that lingers in the confines of your memory from the years of tap dancing lessons your parents forced upon you, but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying others who’ve perfected like tedious crafts. Especially when they’ve placed the foot-stomping and leg-flailing into a performance that pins good against evil, set behind an historical Irish folk music soundtrack. While captivating audiences the world over through his utilization of traditional Irish dance, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance does just that. Witness what the Los Angeles Times called “a show piece extravaganza” at the Orange County Performing Arts Center before this talented troupe heads back to the land of the shamrock.
