Scintillating Artistry

Art Tease

By ERIN DEWITT

Published on February 19, 2009 at 2:42am

It’s always difficult to accept the passing of an icon; though Bettie Page will forever remain a timeless figure of brazen sexuality. Honoring the original fetish pin-up queen, the Light Gallery will be hosting “Art Tease”—a groundbreaking show that combines the vintage glamour of pin-up with the cutting-edge art of today. Within a themed set, artists draw and paint pin-up models and burlesque dancers (models Kim Caracoles, Anjella, Katarina Volanda and Ambur Rockell), challenging mainstream concepts of what is/is not sexy. Victoria Vengeance & the Feminine Oddities are scheduled to drop jaws with a racy burlesque show while photographers, illustrators and artists of all kinds are welcome to participate in this atmosphere of indulgent creativity.
