With Koo’s Inc. now in charge of the Yost Theater, the nearly century-old downtown Santa Ana theater is poised to see some new life. After hosting bands like the (International) Noise Conspiracy during soundDowntown last November, programming at the venue is picking back up this week with LA’s boy/girl space-pop duo the Bird and the Bee, who released their latest album, Ray Guns Are Not Just the Future, last month. They’ve made a name recently through appearing on a number of diverse films and TV shows—Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the Sex and the City movie, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!. It’s also the album release show for Orange County’s Melanoid; debuting the Asleep in the Wake full-length.
