MusINK Festval

By Amanda Parsons

Published on February 19, 2009 at 2:45am

Nothing goes with heavy rock music like needles that puncture skin and fill the open wound with ink. They’re like peas and carrots, really. The “MusINK” festival may have had some major traumas as of late —the nation-wide tour was cancelled due to the crappy economy, and scheduled performers Nekromantix had to back out to deal with the beyond-tragic death of their drummer, Andrew Martinez—but famous tattooist and fest founder Kat Von D is charging ahead to bring the action back to the OC Fairgrounds for three days of blood (and ink), booze and bands at “MusINK” 2009. Featuring headlining acts like Reverend Horton Heat (Friday), Atreyu (Saturday) and the extreme hotness of Danzig (Sunday), not to mention live body art by over 200 tattoo specialists, this year’s celebration is sure to be even more exciting than the last.
